About the Role
OakTech is seeking a hands-on, client-facing Consultant to support the design and delivery of cross-functional, tech-enabled initiatives for capital allocators, operators, and emerging funds. This role blends business strategy, systems thinking, and execution management. You will work with clients and internal teams to translate ideas into structured projects, using automation, analytics, and lightweight software to deliver measurable outcomes. This role requires comfort operating in ambiguity, the ability to communicate with executives, and a systems-oriented mindset to streamline processes and accelerate decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with clients to define project goals, gather requirements, and co-develop operational roadmaps.
Lead end-to-end implementation across business planning, financial modeling, CRM/database configuration, legal coordination, and marketing asset production.
Conduct workflow discovery and identify automation opportunities across sourcing, onboarding, investor relations, and reporting.
Translate client inputs into technical workflows using tools like Airtable, Zapier, OpenAI, Make, HubSpot, and Google Workspace.
Configure CRM and marketing systems to manage contacts, track engagement, and integrate with outreach and analytics platforms.
Manage cross-functional project deliveryserving as the connective tissue between strategy, execution, and technology.
Help draft project documentation, investor materials, pitch decks, landing pages, and SOPs.
Technical Skills & Toolset
The ideal candidate is fluent in:
No-Code / Low-Code Platforms: Airtable, Zapier, Make, Retool, Notion, and Webflow (or equivalents)
CRM & Marketing Automation: HubSpot, GoHighLevel, Salesforce, or similar
Productivity & Collaboration Tools: Google Workspace, Slack, ClickUp, Figma
Data Manipulation: Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills including financial modeling, lookup logic, and conditional formatting; basic SQL is a plus
AI Tools & APIs: Familiarity with tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, or embedding AI via API or webhooks is a bonus
Business Process Experience
Success in this role requires experience designing and refining core business processes. Ideal candidates can:
Map and improve operational workflows (e.g., onboarding, intake, fundraising, reporting)
Work with financial or legal stakeholders to align on timelines, data needs, and execution paths
Understand key milestones in business setup, capital formation, investor relations, and transaction management
Think holistically across sales, ops, product, and financeeven if they arent experts in all areas
Preferred Background
37 years of experience in consulting
Familiarity with operations, venture services, fund administration, or a startup environment
Exposure to capital markets, fund structures, or investor workflowsinvestment banking or private equity familiarity is a plus, but not required
Experience working in small teams, managing clients directly, and wearing multiple hats
Strong writing, presentation, and analytical skills
