About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced
Hospice Associate Medical Director
to play a vital leadership role in advancing our mission of providing exceptional, patient-centered end-of-life care. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead clinical excellence in hospice care while ensuring dignity, comfort, and quality of life for patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities: Provide eligibility assessments, certifications, and recertifications for hospice patients, including Face-to-Face (F2F) visits. Review and certify patients' medical eligibility in compliance with Medicare/Medicaid regulations. Offer oversight of physician services for the hospice program. Approve patient admission orders and ensure compliance with hospice policies. Collaborate with attending physicians regarding pain and symptom management. Provide medical consultation to the interdisciplinary team (IDT). Participate in or chair Medical Advisory Committee meetings. Review and sign admission documents and care plans within regulatory timeframes. Make home visits when needed and write appropriate orders. Ensure patient dignity, rights, and comfort are prioritized in all care decisions. Complete documentation timely and accurately. Qualifications:
MD or DO degree with valid, unrestricted medical license and prescriptive authority in the state of practice. Minimum
1 year of hospice or palliative care experience . Board certification in hospice & palliative medicine highly preferred. Experience in medical leadership or clinical supervision desirable. Strong understanding of hospice regulations, Medicare standards, and compliance. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with healthcare teams, patients, and families. Passion for compassionate end-of-life care and commitment to hospice philosophy.
