As an Information Technology Specialist II you will have the opportunity to: Independently manage and lead enterprise-wide projects, while applying industry standards, principles and guidelines, and methods, to ensure the assigned project team completes the project with the desired quality and planned schedule Collaborate with various business and technical teams Work with Oversight Agency colleagues during the California Project Approval Lifecycle (PAL) for IT projects Manage projects throughout the entire project lifecycle: conceptualization, initiation, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and close out phases in adherence with the project scope, schedule, and budget Act as a lead and mentor to all the IT Project Managers and Business Analysts within the Enterprise Business Services Branch Provide leadership, guidance and assistance to business analysts on their respective projects Desirable Qualifications We Look For:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute preferred Certified Scrum Master certificate (CSM) preferred Strong working knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Scrum, etc) and processes (PMBOK) preferred Experience leading the project planning process with an understanding of how to define objectives and develop project roadmaps and timelines Experience applying best practices while managing concurrent large size projects of high risk and visibility with a proven successful track record Able to analyze situations with diplomacy and tact, and make sound decisions Strong written and verbal communication skills Able to identify, analyze, and manage risks and issues Experience working with procurement and acting as a contract manager Knowledge of Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) best practices and industry standards preferred Knowledge of project portfolio management principles, methods, techniques, and tools preferred Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment Experience in developing and delivering project management training You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement .
