Accounting Professional

We are looking for a detail-oriented accounting professional to join our team in Glen Allen, Virginia. This contract position offers an opportunity to contribute to essential financial operations within the wholesale distribution industry. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in general ledger accounting and demonstrate proficiency in managing month-end close processes. Responsibilities: Perform monthly close procedures for two distinct brands, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Review and analyze monthly financial entries, conducting research to verify or correct discrepancies as needed. Process invoices and maintain accurate records for accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Utilize QuickBooks and general ledger systems to manage financial data effectively. Perform data entry tasks with precision to support overall accounting operations. Ensure compliance with established accounting policies and procedures. Collaborate with other departments to resolve financial discrepancies and improve workflows. Assist in preparing reports and documentation related to month-end close activities. Maintain organized financial records for audit and reporting purposes. Requirements: Proven experience in general ledger accounting and month-end close processes. Proficiency in QuickBooks and other general ledger systems. Strong skills in accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) management. Familiarity with invoice processing and data entry. Ability to analyze financial data and resolve discrepancies independently. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members across departments.
