POSITION SUMMARY
This position supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Housekeeping and Buildings Coordinator serves as a member of the housekeeping and buildings staff team and leads the team to ensure the Y is clean, safe, and secure. Must be able to uphold all YMCA safety and member service standards while focusing on positive relationships with all members, staff, volunteers and guests at the YMCA facility. The Housekeeping and Buildings Coordinator is an ambassador for the YMCA and should ensure delivery of high standards of customer service and cleanliness.

The YMCA is a leader in child abuse prevention to support the safety of children in our care. You'll support the commitment of the YMCA to child abuse prevention by: Report any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor. Follow all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children. Report any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor. Complete all child abuse prevention training as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Teaches and demonstrates the Y's values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring and faith. Be knowledgeable in member and staff policies and implement them consistently. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Documents and responds to member inquiries and complaints in a timely manner. Directly supervises housekeeping and building supervisor teams, scheduling staff for day-to-day operations, programs and events as needed. Works with Branch Executive to hire, train and develop staff. Serves as a responder to security and disciplinary incidents, fire alarms and medical emergencies. In an emergency, summons any needed professional assistance (e.g., police, fire, EMS) and follows their directions. Leads through visible actions that inspires and guides the team. Be visible and approachable to YMCA members and staff. Identifies and takes ownership to solving problems in a professional manner for both members and staff. Models and adheres to YMCA Service Standards. Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, vacuuming, seasonal activities such as snow removal, and general cleaning. Regularly walks all areas of the facility and the outside grounds. Monitors activities. Responds to member needs and assist as needed. Encourage a culture that builds relationships with members of all ages, offers a welcoming environment, and makes the YMCA experience safe and fun for all. Prepares and submits payroll for staff, ensuring accurate timekeeping and timely approval. Conducts daily facility walkthroughs to check cleanliness, organization, and cleaning supplies. Inventories and purchases necessary janitorial supplies to support branch operations. Communicates and documents incidents as needed according to YMCA guidelines and procedures. Communicates with YMCA members, guests and parents/guardians to ensure proper engagement of all stakeholders. Identifies needed improvements in the areas of risk management, safety, facility cleanliness, and overall member service. Attends all required training events, staff meetings, and supervisory conferences. Works collaboratively with coworkers and association leadership. Reports damaged equipment or safety hazards promptly. Ensures a strong focus on character development and diversity, equity and inclusion throughout programming. Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Rock River Valley.

UALIFICATIONS
Minimum age of 21 years old. Minimum of one-year housekeeping and leadership experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills are a must; proven ability to work with children and adults of all ages. Previous customer service, sales or related experience strongly preferred. High degree of self-confidence, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills. Ability to model professionalism, accountability, and service excellence in all interactions. Proficient with basic office equipment and standard computer applications. Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment. CPR, AED and First Aid certifications required within 90 days. Praesidium Academy trainings. Prefer knowledge of, and previous experience with, diverse populations. Proven track record of developing authentic and deepened relationships with others. 1 Position Full-Time, Non-Exempt 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 12:00 - 8:00 pm Occasional weekend hours $20.00 per hour
