Location : Ideally local to Addison, TX Hybrid strongly preferred. Open to remote candidates, but local applicants will be given priority.

Position Type : Contract (6+ Months)

POSITION DETAILS

GTN Technical Staffing is seeking a Senior Data Integration Engineer with expertise in Apache NiFi and PostgreSQL for a Contract role based in Addison, TX (Hybrid preferred, remote considered for the right candidate).The ideal candidate will support data movement, transformation, and orchestration across a growing SaaS ecosystem serving ~100 enterprise customers. This individual will own the design, development, and optimization of NiFi-based ETL pipelines and ensure efficient, secure delivery of data into and out of the PostgreSQL environment.

Youll work in a high-availability production setting and collaborate with DevOps, Data Engineering, and Application teams to ensure seamless data operations in a cloud-native stack.

  • ETL Pipeline Ownership : Design, build, and maintain end-to-end ETL workflows using Apache NiFi
  • Data Integration : Configure NiFi processors for secure ingestion, transformation, and delivery across internal and external endpoints
  • PostgreSQL Data Management : Tune queries, optimize storage, and support schema evolution for a multi-tenant data architecture
  • Monitoring & Troubleshooting : Set up data flow monitoring, error handling, and performance tuning to ensure reliable delivery
  • Collaboration : Work with developers, product teams, and external vendors to define data exchange requirements and interface specifications
  • Documentation : Maintain accurate documentation for all pipelines, transformation logic, and integration points

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

3+ years of experience in the following technical skill sets

  • Building ETL pipelines, with a strong emphasis on Apache NiFi
  • Deep hands-on experience managing PostgreSQL in production environments, including schema design and performance optimization
  • Experience working in multi-tenant SaaS environments with ~100 enterprise customers
  • Familiarity with common integration protocols (REST, SFTP, JDBC, Kafka, etc.)
  • Strong scripting or programming experience (Python, Bash, Groovy, or Java preferred)
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality best practices
  • Understanding of role-based access, secrets management, and encryption in data flows
  • Comfortable with Agile workflows and cloud-native development practices

    • HIGHLY DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED

  • Experience integrating NiFi with cloud storage (e.G., AWS S3, Azure Blob)
  • Experience working in regulated industries (SOC 2, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Familiarity with visualization and reporting platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Metabase)
  • Exposure to containerized environments (Docker / Kubernetes)
