IT Support Specialist
An IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance to users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. They serve as the first point of contact for IT-related inquiries and help maintain an organization's technological infrastructure. IT Support Specialist Essential Functions and Core Responsibilities: Provide technical support to end-users via phone, email, chat, or in person. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues. Install, configure, and update computer systems and applications. Set up and manage user accounts, passwords, and access permissions. Maintain IT documentation, including troubleshooting guides and asset records. Assist with system upgrades, backups, and security measures. Collaborate with other IT professionals to resolve complex issues. Train users on best practices for IT security and system usage. Monitor and maintain IT equipment such as printers, servers, and networking devices. Escalate unresolved issues to higher-level IT teams when necessary. Other duties as assigned. IT Support Specialist requirements/ Skills/Abilities/Education, Qualifications, and Experience: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Prior experience in IT support, help desk, or technical assistance roles. Understanding of IT security best practices and antivirus solutions. Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues efficiently. Experience with remote desktop tools and ticketing systems. Strong communication and customer service skills.
