P10 Surgical Oncology

Shift: Day/Evening. 7AM

7PM, 7AM

3PM, 3PM

11PM. Four shifts per week. A combination of 2 twelve and 2 eight hour shifts per week, with rotating weekends and holidays. P10 Surgical Oncology is a 32-bed unit providing postoperative care primarily to patients with complex digestive system, sarcoma, and melanoma cancers. They provide care to complex colorectal, stomach, pancreatic, sarcoma and liver cancer patients and those receiving the complex hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) research intervention for small bowel cancer. Function: Provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse. Scope: Impacts patient comfort and outcome of care. Essential Job Functions: Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Acts as part of an assigned care team. Other duties as assigned. Supervision: Received: Directly from a registered nurse. Given: None. Requirements: Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience Required: None Experience Preferred: Experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant. Licensure/Certification Required: None. Licensure/Certification Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Other Required: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources. Experience Preferred: One year of patient care experience in an acute care setting. License/Certification Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
