CompassionCare Hospice is seeking a compassionate, grounded, and spiritually-sensitive Chaplain in Reno, NV. Our Chaplains provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and families during end-of-life care. Develop deep meaningful relationships during a personal and significant life stage More quality time with patients, allowing for more thoughtful unrushed care Variety in work environment, visiting patients in a variety of settings Ability to work independently while also having team support Freedom to be spiritually inclusive, working with patients of all backgrounds Job stability and regular advancement opportunities with a growing company Build strong skills in grief counseling and long-term emotional support Conduct and ensure timely spiritual assessments for patients and families Participate in developing individualized care plans to address spiritual needs Provides direct spiritual support to patients, families, and caregivers Serves as a liaison to community chaplains and spiritual counselors Maintains accurate documentation of spiritual services and communications Attends interdisciplinary meetings and contributes to care planning Offers education and spiritual care guidance to the care team Recruits and supports community chaplains, spiritual counselors, and volunteers Coordinates and leads memorial or funeral services as requested Organizes periodic memorials for staff, volunteers, and community partners Assists in supervising spiritual care volunteers Graduate of an accredited theology or chaplaincy program (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree) Experience working with death and dying, hospice experience preferred Comfort in an interfaith setting Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and values Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary group Ability to network with community clergy and congregations
