Executive Chef
Norwalk Hospital is a 328-bed acute care facility committed to delivering exceptional care and culinary service to patients, staff, and guests. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Chef to oversee all kitchen operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, hands-on culinary leader to bring energy, creativity, and operational excellence to a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities: Plan and execute regular and modified menus according to established guidelines and dietary requirements Ensure high standards of food preparation, portion control, and presentation, including tasting and quality checks Supervise and train kitchen staff in culinary techniques, safety, sanitation, and equipment operation Maintain inventory levels of food and supplies while adhering to budget and ordering protocols Oversee proper use and storage of leftover food in accordance with company standards Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety regulations Implement and monitor cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and kitchen work areas Drive a culture of safety by following and enforcing all facility and company policies, including incident reporting Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities Support client satisfaction initiatives and programs Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree in culinary arts or equivalent experience Minimum 5 years of progressive kitchen management or culinary leadership experience Proven experience in high-volume, complex foodservice environments Institutional and batch cooking experience strongly preferred Strong background in catering operations is a plus ServSafe certification preferred Demonstrated expertise in food trends, production planning, cost control, and sanitation Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, email, and internet tools Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills Must be a hands-on chef who thrives in a team environment Associates at Morrison Healthcare are offered many fantastic benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, retirement plan, flexible time off, paid parental leave, holiday time off, personal leave, associate shopping program, health and wellness programs, discount marketplace, identity theft protection, pet insurance, commuter benefits, and employee assistance program.
