Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelors degree in healthcare field (i.e. Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, Finance or related field) Bachelors degree preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse preferred. Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Five (5) years of experience in supply chain, project management, or a clinical role. Project management experience with ability to initiate and complete projects with measurable outcomes. Understanding of financial analysis and quantitative/qualitative assessment data. Effective oral and written communication skills: Must be able to produce corporate presentation materials appropriate for medical staff and senior executive review. Knowledge of new trends in the industry and new products/technology introductions. Familiarity with budget analysis sufficient to develop impact analyses consistent with Finance Department requirements and practices. Good time management skills, able to prioritize tasks and assignments to meet deadlines. Knowledge of contracting and negotiations, including Group Purchasing Organization (GPO), contract accession, and implementation. Familiar with project management concepts and Lean Six Sigma processes. Principal Accountabilities Coordinates supply chain project management functions with clinical teams, materials management teams within MHHS, including presentations key stakeholders, coordination of discussions, and implementation of decisions. Assures all information provided for clinical and other decision making is accurate, comprehensive, and addresses all business topics involved. Leads and manages multi-disciplinary project teams or clinical specialty committees responsible for product/service introductions, value analysis and utilization review consistent with MHHS policies and procedures. Develops strategies and identifies process improvements that are focused on substantial supply/service cost reduction, standardization, and utilization while maintaining or enhancing quality. Oversees opportunities and develops qualitative and quantitative analyses methodologies for product/service utilization and cost reduction efforts focused on cost containment, utilization, waste reduction, and overall cost per service. Reviews and assesses applicable financial, clinical, and operational data. Reviews evidence based literature, clinical data, and best practices to assist teams in evaluating new supplies and technology. Supports new product/service requestor in preparation for information and presentations while facilitating meetings between staff, physicians, and other appropriate parties. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with clinical, administrative, and healthcare system executives and staff to ensure effective, results-oriented project outcomes. Documents cost savings initiatives and audits projected utilization and actual spend. Participates in developing new programs, training efforts, product/service trials, departmental or organizational goals, etc. Facilitates communications and applicable clinical literature to support product utilization, product conversions, additions, trials and committee activities. Serves as intermediary between Strategic Sourcing Managers and end users, helping to screen and analyze new product introductions. Coordinates in servicing end users for new product introductions, trials and product conversions. Works with Group Purchasing Organization(s) to identify cost savings opportunities, program initiatives and best practices. Ensures safe care to patients, staffs and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service. Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
