Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the accounting records for assigned accounting areas. This includes the design, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls for these accounts. This role will provide day-to-day management of staff and seniors within the accounting department and work with the team to ensure timeliness and accuracy in preparation of financial statements in accordance with the Company's close calendar. Responsibilities
Manage a team of accountants responsible for the day-to-day of multiple accounting areas including, but not limited to, payroll and incentives expense, prepaids, general accrued expenses, fixed/leased/intangible assets, cash, and revenue. Prepare analysis responsible for monthly entries associated with more judgmental areas. Prepare and/or review journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly variance analytics for team's assigned areas. Prepare and/or review detailed accounting calculations and corresponding customer invoices to ensure invoices are generated consistent with customer agreements. Maintain appropriate and thorough accounting documentation for assigned areas. Ensure team meets all deadlines as detailed in close calendar and close checklist. Analyze monthly financial results for team's assigned areas to present to Accounting and Finance leadership. Identify and design process improvements to gain efficiencies in close process. Assist with establishing and monitoring accounting policies and standard operating procedures for assigned areas. Assist with conducting training, goal management, providing ongoing feedback, and coaching of team. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of accounting inquiries. Support year-end external reporting through participation in footnote preparation and tie-out for assigned areas as needed. Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned. Qualifications
Bachelors' degree in accounting. CPA certification preferred. 5+ years of progressively more responsible GL accounting experience. 3+ years of management experience. NetSuite or similar ERP experience is a plus. Thorough understanding of GAAP, internal controls, operational risk assessment, revenue recognition and financial reporting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to anticipate issues, identify and provide sound guidance for resolution. Proven ability to manage projects, allocate resources and collaborate across disciplines and locations. Excellent organization skills. Expert level of proficiency in Excel preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills including presentation skills. Self-motivated and independent, detail oriented, strong work ethic, and high integrity and ethical standards.
