Benefits Administrator
The Benefits Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day management, administration, and compliance of the organization's benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k), wellness, ADA, FMLA and leave of absence policies. This role supports employee education and engagement with benefits, serves as a liaison with vendors, and ensures data accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations. (These responsibilities are to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation) Administer and manage all employee benefit programs, including annual open enrollment, new hire enrollment, and qualifying life events. Act as a primary contact for benefit plan vendors and third-party administrators. Maintain accurate and up-to-date benefits records in HRIS and with carriers. Assist with benefits communication and education, including materials, webinars, and one-on-one support. Support employees with benefit inquiries and resolve issues with sensitivity and confidentiality. Ensure compliance with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and other applicable laws and regulations. Audit monthly benefit invoices and reconcile discrepancies. Collaborate with Payroll to ensure accurate deductions and reporting. Track and manage leaves of absence, including FMLA, short-term and long-term disability, and unpaid leaves. Support wellness and engagement initiatives tied to employee health and retention. Required: College degree: Associates required, Bachelors preferred 35 years of experience in benefits administration or a related HR role Strong knowledge of employee benefits regulations (ACA, ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA, etc.) Experience with HRIS systems (e.g., ADP) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills High level of accuracy and attention to detail Preferred: PHR/SPHR certification Experience with benefits in a multi-state, multi-site organization Experience with California and Colorado leave and benefits laws strongly preferred.
