General Summary:Seeking a skilled Business Intelligence Analyst II to support strategic decision-making through advanced data analysis and visualization. The ideal candidate will have experience working independently with tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, SQL, or Smartsheet.Responsibilities include:Automating workflows and improving data accuracyDesigning dashboards and enhancing reporting systemsStreamlining initiative tracking and documentationCollaborating with cross-functional teams to gather and validate requirementsMentoring junior analysts and contributing to a culture of innovationStrong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for data are essential.Job SpecificationsBachelors Degree preferred, and/or equivalent experience4+ years experience with demonstrated success at a BI Analyst I level or comparable data analytics related fieldProficient experience with modern BI toolsets such as Tableau, Alteryx, PowerBI, or equivalentExperience using Smartsheet is a plusFamiliarity with SQL, analytics programming languages is a plusDemonstrated understanding of data profiling, statistical analysis and data modeling conceptsProficient in extracting and consolidating data from various sources to build dashboardsDemonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical solutionsStrong communications skills with the ability to influence others using data and logicAbility to embrace ambiguity and possess a curiosity for process improvementStrong critical thinking skills for developing positive results for complex issuesAptitude and drive to learn new technologies and analysis techniquesDemonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and business areas across the organizationPrincipal Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct moderately complex data profiling and analysis to evaluate data sources to determine the best source for business informationAcquiring, transforming and translating data into actionable dashboards, reports, algorithms or datasetsPerforming moderately complex statistical analysis and presenting findings to guide, influence and advise leadershipContinuously develop and build upon existing in-depth knowledge of the insurance industry, company and competitor landscapeContinuously develop and build upon existing in-depth knowledge of data stored in company databases as well as emerging trends in business intelligence technologiesWorks directly with internal customers to refine requirements and validate output to ensure solutions will meet expectationsMay provide mentoring, coaching and developmental support to junior BI AnalystsUnum and Colonial Life are part of Unum Group, a Fortune 500 company and leading provider of employee benefits to companies worldwide. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.$73,300.00-$150,500.00Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not.
