Pediatric Cardiac Sonographer

You must be able to work in a dynamic, expanding, and fast-paced accredited pediatric echo lab as a registered pediatric cardiac sonographer. At our several hospital campuses, we offer services in both inpatient and outpatient clinic settings, including satellite clinics with portable equipment. Traveling and being flexible at the last minute are requirements. You can choose from a variety of assignments depending on whether you live in the East or West Valley. Transthoracic echocardiograms must be performed for both adult and pediatric patients with basic to complicated congenital heart disease. Make use of your superior understanding of cardiac physiology and illness to make sure that preliminary reports contain detailed information and that important discoveries are communicated promptly. Exams must be conducted in acute hospital settings, such as the operating room, cardiac catheter lab, emergency department, neonatal and pediatric intensive care units, and other inpatient units. Opportunities are available to act as a preceptor for students or new employees as necessary as well to learn and perform Fetal Echocardiograms and Transesophageal Echocardiograms. Must be open to taking holiday and after-hours calls at various hospital locations. Strong time management abilities and outstanding people skills are required. Call bonuses, working 4-10 hour shifts are all excellent incentives. Required national certification from ARDMS or CCI. Preferred certifications from RVT for Vascular, RCS for echo. You will work along side 8 Physicians/APP's and a robust team of support staff members. Location: Banner Children's Cardiology (East and West Valley) Hours/Shift: This position is four, 10 hour shifts, Mon-Fri. Rotating call on holidays, weekends and nights. Minimum Qualifications: Two-year associate degree in Allied Health or related field required. Requires national certification in the area of specialty from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer in Pediatric Echocardiography (RDCS-PE), or a Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS). BLS certification required. Requires three years of diagnostic cardiology cardiac sonography experience in Peds. Must demonstrate high quality skills as a cardiac sonographer, acts as a clinical resource, has ability to effectively train others, promote quality and efficiency, and demonstrates an expertise in cardiac sonic imaging and is knowledgeable in accreditation standards.
