POSITION SUMMARYThis position is for Production Planner I position and will do a portion of the various key responsibilities listed below asinstructed by Management. The Production Planner I position is responsible for planning production of finished good products, raw material replenishment, and inventory management ensuring no supply interruptions using standardized processes. The position will transition into sole responsibility for production planning activities for multiple production lines. Execution must happen in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner while maintaining a high level of quality and customer satisfaction. This position may work in the field and does not need to be physically located at the plants for which they do production planning.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProduction PlanningUtilizing Oracle system, review suggested recommendations and exceptions generated by the manufacturing plan for multiple production lines.Analyze sales order demand to prioritize and plan production available dates and collaborate with plant on sequencing production for efficient operations.Schedule finished good production to service customer orders, safety stock, and forecast.Communicate production schedules with production department at the plant and other stakeholders as needed.Monitor the execution of production plan and resolve any potential issues in a timely fashion.Adjust schedule as needed or notify customer service of any delay in product availability.Escalate complex issues to Manager or trainer for resolution. Raw Materials ReplenishmentUtilizing Oracle, assist with the monitoring of supply on a daily basis and act on the raw material recommendations and exceptions generated by the plan.Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing to establish needed Blanket Purchase Orders and sourcing rules, and manage all activities associated with Blanket Orders.Assist in the management of all activities for locally purchased raw materials. Engage Strategic Sourcing as needed.Work closely with Strategic Sourcing and Inventory Planning to establish and maintain raw material inventory levels and re-order policies.Interplant TransfersUtilizing Oracle processes, replenish transfer items following recommendations and exceptions generated by the plan. Safety, Quality, and CostPerform all duties with safety in mind and actively participate in all safety programs.Work closely with the plant Production/Quality Departments to maintain that the highest quality products are produced and shipped to customers. Understand and follow all bulletin requirements.Perform all duties in a cost-effective manner. Work closely with Strategic Sourcing to ensure that low cost, high quality raw materials are being purchased.Work closely with the Transportation Department to ensure that cost-effective carriers and backhauls are being utilized for transferred finished goods.Qualifications - External JOB REQUIREMENTS1. Required SkillsDemonstrated ability to execute against standard Oracle processes.Strong analytical and decision-making skills.Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.Ability to interact effectively with others both internal/external.Proven accuracy and attention to detail.Unwavering dedication to safety, quality, and cost goals of USG.Proficient in using a computer and possess an ability to learn new tools and processes.Experience & Education3 years with USG preferred.Bachelor's degree preferred.Supply Chain Planning experience using Oracle or comparable ERP planning tools within USG or in supply chain organizations outside USG preferred.Certification RequirementsAny Supply Chain or Logistics certifications are a plus.Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.USG employees enjoy a number of benefit options for themselves and their families.
