POSITION SUMMARY We are looking for a reliable and hard-working individual to help keep our campus safe, clean, and well-maintained all year round. This role includes indoor and outdoor maintenance tasks such as mowing, snow removal, basic repairs, vehicle maintenance and responding to work requests. You’ll work closely with other staff and occasionally with youth residents, so a positive attitude and good communication skills are important.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, being outdoors, and helping maintain a clean and welcoming environment. Training is available for the right candidate with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform year-round outdoor work: mowing, weed trimming, edging, snow shoveling, salting walkways, and tree/bush trimming. Complete basic building maintenance tasks: painting, drywall patching, plumbing repairs, and flooring Help supervise youth workers in the summer by teaching them basic maintenance tasks in a safe and respectful manner. Check and maintain agency vehicles (oil changes, fluid checks, tire pressure, etc.) and report larger repair needs Assist with moving furniture, setting up for events, or supporting maintenance at other sites as needed. Participate in safety inspections and help fix any issues found. Maintain logs and record for work completed, supplies ordered, and vehicle maintenance. Be available for on-call assignments and respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies as needed. Complete all tasks and responsibility for assigned work, to include any unlisted

tasks, as directed

by your supervisor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent Valid Illinois driver's license and personal auto insurance Must be at least 21 years of age Basic knowledge of common maintenance tasks such as painting, plumbing, and carpentry.Ability to safely operate lawn equipment and small tools. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Comfortable working around youth and being a positive role model. and must be completed upon hire. Ongoing application of these principles is expected and essential to successful job performance. TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention) . Employees must: Pass the written test annually Pass the physical test every six months ( if applicable to their role ) Monthly refresher opportunities are provided. Employees who fall out of compliance may be required to retake the full course. Consistent participation and application of both CARE and TCI are essential to job performance.
