About the Position: Serves as the lead administrative support liaison for a dredge vessel. Coordinates personnel, procurement, training, and communication functions. Supports dredge department heads and crew by applying federal regulations and safety practices. Maintains records, handles travel and supplies, and serves as point of contact between the vessel and the District Office.

- Serves as lead liaison for administrative and HR functions aboard the dredge.
- Manages procurement, supply receipt, and inventory control using GPC.
- Coordinates crew training needs and ensures regulatory compliance.
- Maintains accurate timekeeping and leave records for all personnel.
- Operates radio equipment to communicate between dredge and District Office.
- Required to live aboard the Dredge Wheeler during tour of duty, which will be 14 days on duty/14 days off duty. Normal shift is 12-hour days with shift work.
- Due to the working schedule on the Wheeler, it is not a requirement to live locally, but it would be advantageous to the employee to avoid travel expenses as the Corps of Engineers does not pay transportation to and from the vessel.

- This position meets the criteria for random drug and alcohol testing under the Department of Army Drug-Free Workplace Program as supplemented by USACE ER 690-1-1218.
- Pre-employment and annual physical medical examination required.
- This position requires a United States Coast Guard (USCG) Merchant Mariner Credential (MMC) for Ordinary Seaman or higher. (NOTE: You must provide a copy of the license at time of application.)
- This position requires employee to sign a DA Form 7412, Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified Safety-Sensitive Under the DOT, Federal Highway Administration Rules on Drug and Alcohol Testing.

- Physical Effort / Working Conditions: Incumbent regularly works and lives fourteen (14) consecutive days at a time aboard a sea-going hopper dredge; occasional trips require longer periods aboard. Accomplishment of daily work requires the ability to climb narrow stairways, move through somewhat confined spaces or across outside decks to communicate with supervisory and non-supervisory personnel aboard. Incumbent is exposed to noise in excess of 80 decibels, the effects of all types of sea conditions, inclement weather and possible falls overboard in rough seas.
