Organization's Summary Statement:
Assistant Director, Live Events/TerpVision will work as a member of the Broadcasting & Production Unit within the Maryland Athletic Department and report to the Assistant Athletic Director of Broadcast. The Assistant Director, Live Events/TerpVision, will work individually and as part of a team to execute the production of Maryland Athletics videoboard shows, in addition to supporting Big Ten Plus (B1G+) broadcasts, replays, and coaches' videos.
This position will lead professional freelancers and student crews in executing events for the Athletic Department and Special Events. This role will collaborate with the Broadcast unit to facilitate the scheduling, setup, and execution of in-venue video board programming and digital broadcasts. The duties will also include identifying students and professional freelancers, providing training, and establishing procedures for broadcasting games in conjunction with the Assistant of Broadcast.
Physical Demands:
The scope of the position frequently requires weekend and evening work (Non-standard work hours). While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee operates a computer and other office devices such as telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc.; Constantly moves about the facility and event site before, during and after events to service clients; and constantly communicates via telephone, email and in person with others to exchange accurate information. Standing, walking, kneeling/crouching, balancing, and lifting up to 50 pounds (Transport of all video equipment, including cameras, tripods, projectors, screens, etc).
Preferences:
Experience in control room positions and setup, including but not limited to Technical Directing, Producing, Directing, Graphics & Replay. 1-2 years of experience in Sports Live Production.
Experience with EVS Replay, Ross Acuity and Xpression, Daktronics Show control, Sony Cameras, ClickEffects Prime, Yamaha CL/QL series, Dante Audio routing, Clear Comm communications, Evertz Routing and Multiviewer systems, SMPTE and Single-Mode Fiber, AJA KiPro Ultra and Framesyncs, NewTek Tricaster, 3-play and other broadcast equipment.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, Mac and Windows operating systems.
Licenses/Certifications: NA
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: One (1) year of experience in a professional setting.
Other: Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics administrative structure and responsibilities.
Knowledge of athletics policies and procedures and federal, state, and other applicable, related laws, rules, regulations, and ordinances.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
Ability to multitask and prioritize within unit and department environment as well manage large-scale athletics-related projects.

Preferences: Experience working in a D1 athletic department and/or industry.
