Overview PDF Solutions (NASDAQ: PDFS) is seeking a Senior Analog Circuit Systems Engineer to join the R&D team focusing on developing a cutting-edge electron beam inspection tool (eProbe). These tools are high-speed scanning electron microscopes (SEM) used at 300mm semiconductor wafer fabs to implement PDF’s Design-for-Inspection (DFI) methodology for yield ramp and manufacturing control. As an analog circuit systems engineer at PCB assembly (PCBA) level, the candidate will work closely with the internal engineering team and customers on technical challenges to improve system accuracy and throughput. The role requires agility, organization, motivation, teamwork, initiative, good communication skills, and the ability to work in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment. The focus can be adjusted based on the candidate’s strengths and experience. Responsibilities Design analog/mixed signal circuits including data converters (DAC and/or ADC), low-noise, high-bandwidth, high-linearity amplifiers, and circuits for e-beam deflection, alignment, and detection subsystems. Coordinate with the design team on prototyping from feasibility to validation. Conduct precision measurements on PCBA and e-beam subsystems, analyze data with scripting languages like Python, and communicate results effectively. Work with hardware, firmware, and software engineers to derive system specifications. Perform schematic capture, circuit simulation, PCB layout, troubleshooting, and problem-solving. Support subsystem and system integration and troubleshooting. Qualifications Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field. Master with 8+ years or Ph.D. with 3+ years of experience. Hands-on experience with LNA, TIA, TCA, ADC, DAC design and performance optimization. Familiarity with PCB design tools like Altium, OrCAD/Allegro. Experience with circuit simulation tools such as LTSpice, TINA, MATLAB Simulink. Ability to interpret circuit performance indicators like SNR, SFDR, ENOB, etc. Familiar with test equipment such as DMM, SMU, TDR, oscilloscopes, analyzers. Knowledge of shielding, grounding, high-voltage amplifier design, and component selection. Experience with automation, thermal management, signal integrity, and power integrity is a plus. Pay Range: USD $150,000 - $205,000/year.
