PDF Solutions (NASDAQ: PDFS) is seeking a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to join the R&D team focusing on developing a cutting-edge electron beam inspection tool (eProbe). These tools are basically high-speed scanning electron microscopes (SEM) used at 300mm semiconductor wafer fabs to implement PDF’s Design-for-Inspection (DFI) methodology used in yield ramp and manufacturing control. PDF Solutions (NASDAQ: PDFS) is seeking a Senior Electrical Systems Engineer to join the R&D team focusing on developing a cutting-edge electron beam inspection tool (eProbe). These tools are basically high-speed scanning electron microscopes (SEM) used at 300mm semiconductor wafer fabs to implement PDF’s Design-for-Inspection (DFI) methodology used in yield ramp and manufacturing control.

As an electrical systems engineer, the candidate will work on various electrical sub-systems. He or she is also expected to coordinate across different functions: working with mechanical, electrical, software, and other systems engineers to meet stringent technical, schedule, and budgetary requirements. He or she must be agile, organized, highly motivated, a team player; have strong initiative, excellent analytical skills, good communication skills, and can work in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary, intensive, and highly productive small team environment. Our R&D team has an outstanding mix of diverse talents with various backgrounds and provides excellent mentorship opportunities. The focus of this role can be adjusted based on the candidate’s strengths and interest as well as experience level.

Responsibilities

Work with a team of highly skilled electrical engineers with expertise in the design of DC power distribution, high voltage system, signal and image acquisition system, motion control, and various circuits. Strive to deliver subsystems that meet design specifications and reliability targets in a timely manner. Work with mechanical, electrical, software, and other functional/subsystem engineers to define electrical system/subsystem design specifications and oversee design process from requirements to implementation to testing/validation, and eventual deployment on the eProbe tool. Design testing and its automation. Analyze data using tools like Python, Matlab, etc. Create and maintain design documentation, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and test procedures. Troubleshoot product issues throughout the product lifecycle and provide support to manufacturing and service teams.

Qualifications

Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or an equivalent engineering field. Bachelor with 8 years’ industry experience or Master degree with 6 years’ industry experience or Doctoral degree with 2 years’ industry experience. The successful candidate should have good data analytical skills and problem-solving skills. Fluent with Labview and scripting languages (such as Python, Matlab, and etc.) Knowledge and experience of high precision metrology and measurement automation. Familiar with equipment such as digital multimeter (DMM), source meter unit (SMU), time domain reflectometer (TDR), signal/function generator, oscilloscope, signal/spectral analyzer, network analyzer, etc. Knowledge and experience of capital equipment tools such as ebeam inspection, SEM, TEM, ebeam lithography is highly desired. Capable of working in cleanroom environment is highly desired. Knowledge and experience of DC power (circuit) design. Familiar with electrical components such as DC/DC, OpAmp, sensors, imaging camera, etc. Knowledge and experience of PCB/PCBA design tooling (Altium preferred, OrCAD/Allegro, etc.) is highly desired. Knowledge and experience of microcontroller (PIC, MSP, etc.) programming with C/C++ is highly desired. High voltage (>5kV) experience is highly desired. Knowledge and experience of EMI (shielding and grounding), signal integrity, and power integrity is a plus. Knowledge and experience of high vacuum system is a plus. Working experience in cleanroom environment is a plus.

Pay Range

USD $130,000.00 - USD $170,000.00 /Yr. Seniority level
