The Principal Salesforce Solutions Architect is responsible for the overall design of applications or solutions, translating business requirements into systems and technical specifications. The role involves collaborating with Business Stakeholders, Software Developers, QA Engineers, Enterprise Architects, Data Architects, and Security Architects to deliver comprehensive solutions. This position reports to the Director of Architecture within the Internal Applications department. Responsibilities Be a subject matter expert on assigned solutions, understanding their strengths, weaknesses, and component relationships, including integrations and architecture. Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure the safe and sustainable delivery of the product vision, manage architectural technical debt, and facilitate backlog creation. Work with Enterprise Architecture, Cloud Engineering, Security, and other teams to improve and create modern architected solutions, reference architectures, and work on POCs for new technologies. Maintain architecture standards across teams, ensuring best practices, resolving architecture issues, and conducting build reviews. Participate in a community of practice, sharing feedback, proposing new ideas, and solving complex problems collaboratively. Mentor junior architects, review architecture peer work, and support legacy system understanding and migration to modern cloud architectures. Demonstrate a collaborative approach, understanding software component interactions, and stay open to learning new technologies. Participate in planning and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
7+ years of experience with Salesforce solutions (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Mulesoft) in a solutions architect role. 5+ years as a Software Developer, with expertise in Apex, LWC, Aura components, and Mulesoft Anypoint platform. Experience with large legacy systems, breaking monoliths into microservices, and integrating Salesforce with external systems. Strong knowledge of data architecture, AI, bots, APIs, SOAP, WSDL, JSON, XML, REST, and API design patterns. Experience with solution diagramming, full development lifecycle, and excellent communication skills. Passion for ethical and effective solutions.
Preferred Experience/Education
Salesforce Application Architect certification, full stack engineering, cloud certifications, SAFe certification. Masters degree in Computer Science or related field. Experience managing large, mixed legacy and modern codebases, especially cloud migrations. Experience with remote teams.
