Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM Location: Michigan
Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Behavioral Health team. The RN will be responsible and accountable for performing the nursing process as the basis for patient care, providing direction and oversight to licensed and non-licensed staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to integrity, stewardship, empowerment, diversity, and professional excellence in providing care to patients.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assess the care needs of individuals served, develop care plans in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, and continually reassess the plan according to the individuals' evolving needs. - Collaborate with physicians to provide and coordinate nursing care for individuals and groups. - Assist in teaching individuals served and their families, and manage the milieu to ensure a therapeutic environment. - Communicate with and educate individuals served and their families/significant others about discharge and aftercare planning needs. - Ensure the safety and security of individuals served and staff in both individual and group settings. - Document, report, and verify all necessary information in accordance with established policies and procedures. - Monitor and report potential risks to individuals' safety that could lead to adverse outcomes. - Create a customer-friendly environment by following quality improvement standards and maintaining professionalism while building positive relationships with patients, coworkers, and external customers. - Provide care in various clinical settings, tailoring approaches to meet the specific needs of diverse populations. - Function as a clinical leader by delegating and coordinating staff assignments, while promoting professional development among staff. - Utilize and continually review patient care protocols, standards of practice, and standards of care, contributing to process improvement. - Responsible for the training of direct care staff and may oversee medication management and physical health activities in a program. - Demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of the organization, embodying professional standards in appearance, conduct, communication, and time management. - Provide spiritual, emotional, social, mental, and physical support to patients, promoting a recovery-focused environment within a person-centered approach. - Uphold annual training requirements and demonstrate competency in required programmatic training. - Perform other duties or functions as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- May function as a charge nurse.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of behavioral health experience required. - Must hold a current RN license in the state of Michigan. - Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
