About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Medicine and Trauma Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 3 Years of Acute Care RN Experience License: Must have a valid Indiana or Compact RN license in hand or have submitted the application for licensure. Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS. Travelers must be able to work 50% of the weekends in their contract. Travel nurses may be assigned students to shadow while on assignment. Description: The Emergency Department requires a registered nurse with experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center. Candidates should be comfortable with a staffing ratio of 1:4. Traveler must have experience in the management of dysrhythmias and blood product administration. Phlebotomy and starting IVs are necessary skills for this role. Experience with continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and ventilated patients is essential. Ability to interpret ABGs and adhere to isolation precautions is required. Must handle triage duties and interpret dysrhythmias effectively. Knowledge of CPAP/BiPAP management and care for traumatic brain injuries is needed. Registered nurses will work with patients spanning all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics. This role includes care for conditions such as STEMI and stroke patients. Qualifications also include experience with emergency medications and trauma management. Travel nurses may need to float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals if necessary. Candidates are expected to complete modules prior to beginning the role.
