Job Description Job Title: PACU Registered Nurse
Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (09:00 AM - 07:00 PM) Experience: 13 weeks, ASAP start Charting System: Epic
Facility Type: - Short-term acute care - Teaching hospital - Total Staffed Beds: 471
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse to provide top-notch care in our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will have prior charge experience and proficiency with the Epic charting system. As a PACU RN, you will play a critical role in monitoring and supporting patients as they recover from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
Key Responsibilities: - Manage and monitor patients recovering from anesthesia. - Conduct patient assessments and coordinate care according to established protocols. - Maintain effective communication with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care. - Assist in the recovery of patients post-surgery, providing emotional support and education to patients and families. - Manage arterial lines and assist with endoscopic/laparoscopic procedures as needed. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy to optimize patient care.
Requirements & Qualifications: - Current and valid NY nursing license - Minimum of 1 year of PACU or relevant nursing experience required - Epic charting experience is a hard requirement - Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS - Ability to float as required
Patient Care Details: - Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics - Patient Ratios: 2:1 during the day and night shifts - Orientation Hours: 4
Additional Details: - Candidates located within 75 miles of the facility will not be accepted for this position. - Foreign education verification may be required on a case-by-case basis.
