This position is part of the Agency Support Operations at the Government Publishing Office in Washington.

Applicants must meet the following Screen-Out element , JOB ELEMENT #73, the

Ability to Lead or Supervise

the work of others as a Facilities Craft Supervisor, to be considered for this position.

Qualifications Applicants must have experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to independently perform the duties typically required of a Facilities Craft Supervisor, KP-4607-00. These duties include:

Adhering to work priorities, project schedules, resources, and detailed work plans established by higher-level supervisors;

Assigning work to individuals while tracking and reporting progress on work assignments, and requesting authority to adjust worker assignments and to use overtime, equipment, or materials to meet schedules;

Leading and overseeing employees engaged in all phases of carpentry, masonry, and painting work within the Carpentry Branch.

Additional Requirements In addition to the above, GPO employees competing under merit promotion procedures must meet all of the following criteria in accordance with Federal Merit Promotion Plan, GPO Instruction 615.2C (Appendix A):

Have completed a formal, recognized apprenticeship or GPO journeyperson training program, or possess substantially equivalent practical experience in the trade of the vacancy;

Have at least 1 year of journeyperson experience subsequent to completion of the above apprenticeship or training;

Have served a minimum of 1 year in a Career or Career-Conditional appointment.

Experience includes paid and unpaid work, volunteer work through programs like Peace Corps or AmeriCorps, and other organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical skills and experience that can translate directly to employment. All qualifying experience, including volunteer work, will be credited.
