Overview World Wildlife Fund (WWF), one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, seeks an Assistant General Counsel. Major Function Provide a full range of in-house legal services to WWF-US, focusing on non-profit legal matters, data privacy, contracts and grants, corporate governance, charitable giving, litigation, technology, employment, intellectual property, and other relevant areas. Responsibilities Provide sound and constructive advice on legal and risk issues to colleagues in headquarters and country offices supported by WWF-US. Draft clear and precise memoranda and other legal documents as needed. Review and negotiate non-standard contracts, vendor agreements, grant agreements, MOUs, and other legal agreements. Advise on contract issues, including compliance, amendments, termination, and bankruptcy. Stay informed about proposed legislation and regulations impacting the organization, including US and international employment laws and data privacy laws. Offer advice on intellectual property matters, including trademark filings, infringements, copyright compliance, and enforcement. Address legal needs of the organization as assigned by the manager. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Law Degree and D.C. bar membership (or eligibility to become a member) with at least three years of relevant practice experience. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) strongly preferred; additional languages a plus. Exceptional writing skills. Strong legal research and analytical skills. Location This position is based in Washington, DC, with a hybrid work schedule (currently requiring 2 days in the office per week).
