Job Description And Duties
Under the general direction of the Region Manager II, and the lead direction of both the East Bay and Delta Regions Manager I. The Staff Services Manager I, will serve as the Resource and Hiring Manager and is responsible for directing the activities of the administrative staff of two offices of the East Bay/Delta Region. In this roll the SSM I, plans, organizes and performs the most complex administrative tasks. These task includes management and supervision of administrative and support staff, development and coordination of budget and personnel activities, working with the District Office staff and Maintenance Operations. Incumbent is responsible for supporting the Maintenance and Operations management personnel with financial and personnel services to enable them to manage their respective branches in a professional, confidential and productive manner.

Working Conditions
Position located at 600 Lewelling Boulevard, San Leandro 94579, Alameda County
This is a Limited Term position which may be extended to 24 months or become permanent.
Multiple positions may be filled from this recruitment.
Incumbent’s work hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. To help the Department with scheduling, incumbent may be asked on occasions to work alternate work shifts such as but not limited to 9/80, 4/10, work nights or weekends, and be available to respond after hours to emergency calls. This position requires travel to and from both the San Leandro and Walnut Creek offices. This position is in-office 5 days/week and does not telework.

Incumbent and staff must conduct system studies of functional management systems to determine their effectiveness in predicting Personal Service Dollars and Operating Expense needs; also conducts operational studies to develop workload indicators for use in budget forecasting; conduct work measurement analysis to help develop work norms and performance standards, and serve as subject matter expert when needed.
