We are seeking a Project Engineer to train into a successful Tenant Improvement Project Manager who shares our values and dedication to exceptional client service.
This position reports directly to a Senior Project Manager and involves immediate estimating and project management responsibilities. As a Project Engineer, you will support the planning, development, and management of tenant improvement commercial construction projects.

The following are some of your day-to-day responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist project management in estimating and managing all commercial tenant improvement projects, ensuring quality, schedule adherence, cost control, and safety standards that meet or exceed client expectations. Support all aspects of project management and field operations, especially for small to medium projects.
Support the project team throughout all project phases, including estimating, scheduling, subcontracting, administration, and closeout of small projects.
Review project plans, requirements, and specifications; ensure contract compliance.
Interpret drawings, identify scope of work, assemble subcontractor lists, and assist in bidding processes.
Perform estimates for smaller projects and assist in budgeting for larger projects.
Maintain project controls, track project status, change orders, RFIs, shop drawings, quality, safety, and costs.
Support change management, including updating logs, obtaining quotes, developing estimates, and writing change orders.
Assist in establishing and maintaining project schedules and managing material, labor, and subcontract take-offs.
Support contract negotiations and project evaluations for cost savings.
Assist with budget tracking, invoicing, and receivable collection.
Organize documents for project closeout and manage final activities.
Conduct job walks to identify issues and facilitate solutions; assist with building permits.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture, with at least 2 years’ experience as a project engineer in commercial construction.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, costing, scheduling, and estimating.
Familiarity with construction plans, specifications, and codes.
Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Building Connected, or similar software.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
Problem-solving skills and effective communication techniques.
Ability to interpret instructions and establish working relationships with stakeholders.
Willingness to travel as needed; valid California driver’s license required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform essential functions safely, with or without accommodations.
Maintain punctual attendance.
Prolonged sitting and computer work; manual dexterity for keyboarding.
Occasional walking, climbing stairs, and exposure to outdoor conditions with PPE.
Occasional lifting of 10-20 pounds.
