www.cambridgeassociates.com . Job Description Summary: Position Overview: The Private Equity Research Team conducts industry research and performs fund due diligence on private equity funds. We cover a wide array of investment strategies including leveraged buyouts, growth equity, and distressed investing. The team is located in Boston, MA and San Francisco/Menlo Park, CA and has two senior Investment Directors supported by four Investment Associates. Investment Associates complete an in-depth training program and receive ongoing training and mentorship from senior Investment Directors. Because deep knowledge and experience are important for maximizing an IA’s time at C|A, we are looking for candidates who are interested in growing with our research team for a minimum of 2-3 years. Job Description: Job Responsibilities: Aid senior team members in developing house opinions on private equity fund managers and markets through qualitative and quantitative research and analysis. Utilize analytical frameworks and develop unique analyses to assess private equity funds in terms of organization, investment strategy, performance, fund terms, current portfolio companies, and other key attributes. Help source new investment opportunities through C|A’s network, advisor relationships, and other industry sources; input and track through Salesforce CRM system Monitor existing managers by attending and participating in meetings with fund general partners and other senior personnel. Strengthen ESG data, analytics, and capabilities that support investment decisions, monitoring and reporting, value creation and best practices Produce investment recommendations and due diligence reports utilized by colleagues and our clients to support investment decisions. This includes meeting summaries with fund managers, in depth due diligence reports, and other periodic research including white papers exploring current topics in the private equity industry. Help lead reference calls with portfolio company CEOs and other industry participants. Serve as a resource to colleagues seeking information on investment opportunities, including data and analysis, comparisons across fund managers, and the opinion of the research team. Prepare for and participate in firm-wide, global meetings to discuss the private equity and venture capital markets. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (any major) with a record of achievement. Strong, demonstrated interest in investments with zero to three years of work experience. Strong, analytical and quantitative skills. Demonstrated leadership, integrity and initiative. Demonstrated command of written communication and strong business writing skills. Ability to engage in conversation with internal and external parties, including senior investment managers and references. Strong Excel skills preferred. Ability to work both independently and in a team under tight deadlines. Willingness and ability to travel domestically. Base salary range for this role Pay Range Minimum: 80000 Pay Range Maximum: 88500 In addition to the listed salary range, this position is eligible for an annual performance-based bonus and a comprehensive, competitive benefits package.
