Location: 3100 East Fletcher Avenue Tampa, Florida 33613 The community youll be caring for: AdventHealth Tampa AdventHealth Tampa, a faith-based not-for-profit 626-bed tertiary-level acute care hospital located in the uptown district of Tampa, Florida, specializes in advanced cardiovascular medicine, neuroscience and neurology, digestive health, orthopedics, womens services, pediatrics, oncology, endocrinology, bariatrics, wound healing, sleep medicine and general surgery including minimally invasive and robot-assisted procedures. GME programs on the hospital campus currently include general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine and transitional year. AdventHealth Tampa is home to the renowned AdventHealth Pepin Heart Institute, a recognized leader in cardiovascular disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment and leading-edge research caring for Tampa Bays hearts for over 35 years. The Kiran C. The role youll contribute:

The CVOR First Assistant provides a highly technical & knowledge based skill-set to assist the surgeon to carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.The CVOR First Assistant is capable of working independently, or codependently with surgeons, to finalize the surgery according to the surgeons plan of care.The CVOR First Assistant prepares and maintains the surgical area, provides scrubbing duties and delivers first assistant intraoperative technical functions to the physician during procedures, assists the RN in technical functions related to patient care and assists in the training of others and functions as a resource within the department. The CVOR First Assistant has the knowledge and experience to perform endoscopic or open-procedure intraoperative harvesting of the saphenous vein.The CVOR First Assistant performs endovascular & open revascularization of the peripheral & central vascular systems.

The value youll bring to the team:

Confirms what procedure(s) will be completed. Determines specific equipment needed per surgical procedure. Reviews case load and studies and prepares for pending surgical procedures. Reviewing preference cards to confirm procedure and special needs and participating in Universal Protocol steps including the time out. Appropriately select and place diagnostic tests for reference as applicable. Assists in moving and positioning the patient (is familiar with positioning per each surgeons preference, positioning devices and equipment). Performs operative shave prep, scrub, or other patient care tasks as assigned by the RN. The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed:
