Job Description

You will lead our Biotech Business Development Leads for our Bioanalytical services with responsibility to drive authorizations and revenue growth with existing biotech accounts and develop new business with new biotech accounts. Bioanalytical services are part of the Analytical Services Division (ASD). This role reports to the Vice President, Business Development, Bioanalytical and Vaccines, and plays a crucial role in the success of the bioanalytical commercial efforts by increasing wallet share with new PPD biotech accounts.

The Bioanalytical Biotech Business Development (BD) Director will be instrumental in expanding our network of relationships with external biotech organizations. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent relationship-building skills to foster and maintain partnerships that support our bioanalytical laboratory business development objectives.

The ideal candidate will possess strong front-line leadership and organizational skills, a deep understanding of laboratory operations and the biotech market, and a proven track record of success in similar roles.

This position is global and can be located remotely within the United States.

How will you make an impact:

You will help our clients and sponsors understand how our bioanalytical laboratory services can accelerate the delivery of life-changing therapies, contributing to making the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

What will you do:

Drive Strategy to Action:

Develop and implement a sales strategy for our biotech business development team and targeted accounts within the bioanalytical market. Craft a compelling value proposition and a methodology to translate that into action, tailored for each biotech account.

Establish Strong Client Relationships:

Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, including senior leaders in Procurement, R&D, and Clinical Development. Support the BD team in advancing these relationships to higher levels within each account.

Deliver Sales Results:

Define and pursue revenue opportunities to increase market share. Develop biotech-specific strategies for current and new accounts. Monitor client satisfaction and recommend improvements. Achieve sales goals by expanding share of wallet, securing new business, and developing portfolios across global biotech accounts.

Create Strategic Proposal Approach:

Collaborate with relevant functions to develop a proposal response process, including templates, presentation materials, and a methodology that resonates with biotech accounts. Review proposals to refine pitches and improve success rates.

Develop the Team:

Recruit, train, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of biotech business development leads. Foster collaboration, remove barriers, and provide tools and guidance to achieve optimal results. Set performance expectations, monitor progress, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Monitor and Report Sales Performance:

Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities and outcomes to the VP of Sales, Bioanalytical Laboratory.
