We are currently offering a fantastic career opportunity for a highly motivated Lab Technician to join Antharis Therapeutics, a pre-clinical company based in San Diego. The company is committed to discovering and developing novel immunotherapeutics (monoclonal antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates) for an array of disease states. The approaches for antibody discovery, including hybridoma technology, aim to streamline the development of lead candidates for entering the clinic in an expedited fashion. We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our team, reporting directly to a supervising scientist or research associate. This multifaceted role involves maintaining lab cleanliness, procuring consumables and reagents, managing stock inventories, and overseeing product deliveries. The candidate will execute analytical and molecular biology procedures, including ELISA, SDS-PAGE, miniprep/midiprep, and agarose gel electrophoresis, along with antibody purification and in-vitro experiments under guidance. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, meticulous record-keeping, effective communication, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment are essential. Flexibility for occasional late hours and a capacity to thrive in a self-directed team environment are also required, with the possibility of undertaking additional duties as needed. Essential Job Functions Directly reports to supervising scientist or research associate Cleans and sanitizes work areas, instruments, and glassware Purchases laboratory consumables, reagents, and other items Interfaces with vendors and controls reagents stock inventories Monitors product delivery to the laboratory, organizes invoices, and executes other administrative tasks Prepares buffers and other standard laboratory solutions, as well as cell culture media Plans and carries out analytical procedures such as ELISA and SDS-PAGE Carries out molecular biology procedures such as miniprep/midiprep and agarose gel electrophoresis (and transfections if required) Performs antibody purification processes (purification, desalting, concentration) Executes in-vitro experiments with guidance from research associates or scientists Maintains detailed records regarding experiments and data Communicates with associates and scientists on methodologies, results, etc. Uses MS Office products proficiently, especially Excel Meets deadlines, rapidly adapts to changes in the laboratory and experimental workflow, and thrives in a demanding, fast-paced team environment May perform additional duties as assigned or directed by management from time to time Exhibits flexibility; sporadically, sample processing and experiments may require late hours Thrive in a self-directed environment and communicate with people with various educational backgrounds Position Requirements BS degree in Biology or closely related field At least 1 year of relevant experience is preferred Familiarity with standard cell culture techniques and proficiency in aseptic technique is a plus Experience with data/statistical analysis is preferred (Excel, GraphPad Prism, FlowJo, etc.) Highly motivated, self-directed, innovative, and able to work independently or among teams with keen judgment, common sense, and resourcefulness Possesses a high level of critical thinking Excellent written and verbal communication skills Has familiarity with laboratory equipment and machinery Operates with a high level of professionalism and integrity, including dealing with confidential information Strong people skills and good communication skills Great organizational skills and time management Driven, committed, self-initiating, with perseverance and a sense of urgency Legally authorized to work in the US #J-18808-Ljbffr
