Clinical Chemistry Supervisor - Immunology Focus
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PhD Clinical Chemist to supervise our Chemistry and Immunology laboratories. This role entails overseeing daily operations to ensure high-quality testing and compliance with regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader focused on enhancing laboratory service quality, ensuring employee adherence to policies, and promoting a collaborative and positive work environment.
Salary:
DOE per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate and direct all activities in the Chemistry and Immunology laboratories. Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards and hospital policies. Manage and support team members, ensuring high standards of performance and professional growth. Oversee Quality Control Programs and prepare detailed reports for section meetings. Directly involve in Performance Improvement Programs and lead departmental initiatives. Develop and enforce a comprehensive Quality Assurance Program focusing on technologist performance, adherence to protocols, and accuracy of test results. Conduct specialized testing and training, interpret results, and consult on necessary follow-up tests. Maintain updated knowledge of industry regulations and advancements in clinical chemistry and immunology. Facilitate effective communication within the laboratory team and with external departments to ensure alignment of objectives and excellence in service delivery. Participate in hiring, training, evaluating, and managing staff in accordance with hospital policies. Minimum Position Qualifications: BS Degree in Clinical Technology or related science field. Six years relevant experience in a hospital laboratory setting. Current NYS License or Eligibility for Licensure as a clinical chemist. Proven ability to manage a laboratory team in a complex healthcare setting. Strong understanding of laboratory information systems and instrument interfacing. Effective problem-solving skills particularly in troubleshooting laboratory equipment. Preferred Qualifications: MS Degree in Clinical Chemistry. ASCP or NCA Certification. Extensive experience in immunology and chemistry testing. Demonstrated leadership in clinical settings with tangible improvements in process efficiencies. Experience with regulatory compliance and quality control in a clinical laboratory. Skills: Leadership and team management. Detailed oriented with strong analytical skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to conduct and oversee clinical tests with precision. High proficiency in using laboratory information systems.
