Job Duties:
Lab Alley, LLC seeks a Chemist to develop and optimize chemical formulations, oversee analytical testing, and ensure regulatory compliance. The Chemist will apply expertise in chemical synthesis, process modeling, and analytical chemistry to support product development, quality control, and laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Control & Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee quality control programs, develop and maintain product documentation (Spec Sheets, COAs), and ensure compliance with Kosher, Halal, Organic, Vegan, Food Grade certifications. Act as the primary regulatory expert for chemical specifications and compliance.
Chemistry Expertise & Leadership
- Serve as the lead chemistry expert, providing technical insight to internal teams and customers on chemical formulations, properties, applications, and regulatory compliance. Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) in preparation for ISO 9001 certification.
Operations & Process Optimization
- Support chemical safety training, oversee packaging and laboratory protocols, and ensure adherence to quality assurance and regulatory processes. Product Stewardship; Technical Support - Act as the point of contact for escalated quality and regulatory issues related to chemical products. Provide technical leadership on the product roadmap and chemical compliance matters.
Research & Laboratory Development
- Build relationships with third-party laboratories, expand in-house testing capabilities, and conduct research & analysis to enhance product formulations and company performance. Develop and implement chemical safety training programs and mentor junior chemists and interns on advanced analytical methods and process engineering techniques.
Job Requirements:
Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field or the equivalent based upon a valid credentials evaluation and one year of work experience in Process Engineering, Research; Development Engineering, Chemical Synthesis, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
