Full-time Certification Rule: Rule of the List Job Code and Title: 2548-Occupational Therapist Fill Type: Permanent Civil Service The San Francisco Department of Public Health continuously accepts applications for all permanent Occupational Therapist positions. Rather than publishing separate job ads for every current and future position, this job ad collects applications for all of them. Positions may be available in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient facilities at Laguna Honda Hospital, inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation and mental health services at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, Health at Home, or in community-centered outpatient clinics serving children and young adults at the California Children Services Medical Therapy Program. Under general supervision, the Occupational Therapist assesses, plans, and implements appropriate Occupational Therapy habilitative and rehabilitative treatment interventions for clients in acute-care and long-term hospitals, senior programs, mental health settings, clinical outpatient centers, home health, public school settings, and other similar institutions. Duties Include Evaluation of client needs Implementation of occupational therapy treatment Documenting treatment per facility and regulatory guidelines Reassessment of client progress and treatment plan Regular communication with rehabilitation team members, clients, client family members, and other health care or community partners regarding treatment programs and services May include supervising assigned staff, students, interns, and volunteers Minimum Requirements Possession of a valid Occupational Therapy License issued by the California Board of Occupational Therapy (CBOT). Basic Life Support for Professional Rescuer (BLS) Certificate issued by the American Heart Association is required as a provision to employment for all positions. 3 months of pediatric experience for California Children's Services.
