My client, a growing cybersecurity consulting firm, is seeking a Firewall Engineer to join their expanding team. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity requiring 2-3 days onsite in Manassas, VA, or Washington, D.C. Candidates must be able to successfully obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Role Overview: The Firewall Engineer will play a key role in managing, securing, and optimizing network infrastructure, ensuring seamless firewall operations and compliance with security policies.
Key Responsibilities: Firewall Management – Oversee firewall upgrades, policy administration, and validation. Multi-Vendor Expertise – Work with Check Point and Palo Alto firewalls. Policy Implementation – Review and apply firewall policy changes in alignment with security standards. Documentation & Compliance – Maintain and update technical documentation to reflect current procedures. Load Balancing – Configure, implement, and manage F5 LTM & GTM load balancing solutions. Network Infrastructure – Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise-level networking solutions. Operational Support – Provide support for data center networking and optimize performance. Security Tools – Manage and fine-tune security technologies such as IDS/IPS, URL filtering, application control, antivirus, and advanced malware detection.
