Travel **Job Description: Neonatal and Pediatric Respiratory Therapist**
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Respiratory Therapist to join our healthcare team for a 13-week contract position. The successful candidate will work both in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), providing essential respiratory care to our young patients depending on the facility’s needs.
**Key Responsibilities:** - Provide respiratory therapy for neonates and pediatric patients. - Assist in high-risk deliveries and manage aerosol setups, including mask and trach therapies. - Administer treatments using BiPAP, CPAP, and high-frequency ventilation techniques. - Perform direct intubation and extubation and provide emergency respiratory care as needed. - Conduct pulmonary hygiene and manage patients with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). - Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans.
**Qualifications:** - Minimum of 2 years of respiratory therapy experience, with at least 1 year in a Level 3 NICU or PICU setting. - Current State Respiratory Therapy License required. - Certifications required: - RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist) - BLS (Basic Life Support) - PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - Knowledge of charting systems; experience with Epic is preferred.
**Skills:** - Proficient in various respiratory modalities and troubleshooting high-pressure alarms. - Ability to provide excellent patient care while managing multiple cases. - Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.
**Unit Details:** - Work environment includes both NICU and PICU settings with a shared focus on providing comprehensive care to neonates and pediatric patients. - Expected to provide weekend coverage and may float to various units as needed.
**Submission Requirements:** - Valid State License and certifications needed at the time of submission. - References and copies of certifications are required. - Pre-approved time-off requests must be submitted with the application, as additional requests cannot be accommodated post-submission.
