Mobile Equipment Driver Examiner
A Mobile Equipment Driver Examiner (T32), WG, 5701, 10, 1. Serves as the chief test control and examining officer for the Wing by individual testing or directing instructor personnel to provide tests to applicants for operating a variety of fixed and mobile equipment such as automotive, heavy mobile, tractor, material handling, and special or general purpose equipment such as cars, trucks, truck tractor and trailer, farm tractors, bulldozers, graders, cranes, front end loaders, road and warehouse sweepers, generators, compressors, elevators, fork lifts, general purpose and power tools, and various special purpose equipment. Typically performs the following: Conducts a variety of written and psychophysical tests, examinations, and occasionally special schools, to determine qualifications of applicants for operator, driver status. Sets up and maintains files, records, test equipment, test forms and general area in accordance with current regulations, procedures, and techniques. Conducts practical road and/or performance tests of personnel taking initial examinations or reexaminations. Selects and prepares the appropriate type equipment required for the examination. Performs operational maintenance and repair on heavy duty mobile equipment and vehicles. Requirements: Minnesota Air National Guard Membership is required. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. May be required to successfully complete a probationary period. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Must be able to obtain and maintain a state drivers license. Qualifications: In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs and other organizations. MILITARY GRADES: E4 (SrA)- E7 (MSgt) Failure to obtain a compatible AFSC may result in termination of employment. GENERAL AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS: The paramount skill/knowledge is to be skilled in a wide variety of equipment. WG - Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to follow instructions and safely operate the type of equipment required to accomplish the duties of the position. WG-10 - Experience or training leading to a thorough knowledge of the mechanical makeup, operation, and working relationships of complex systems, assemblies, and parts for a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Ability to diagnose, repair, overhaul, and modify a variety of combat, tactical, commercial, special purpose vehicles, and equipment. Knowledge of electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other non-mechanical systems that have a functional relationship and effect on the operation of mechanical systems. Knowledge of hydraulic lifting, loading, turning, and positioning systems and their mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic controls. Basic knowledge of electronics, sufficient to identify and replace defective components, such as sensors, diodes, and circuit boards. Ability to repair or overhaul major components such as diesel, multi-fuel or gasoline engines, turbine engines, automatic and manual transmissions, drive line assemblies, electrical and electronic systems and accessories, fuel injection systems, and emission control systems. Education: N/A You must provide transcripts or other documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position. Additional information: No PCS available. The military grade of the supervisor must equal or exceed the grade of personnel supervised. Sensitivity Level 2. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Acceptance of a Technician position may result in the termination of your Selected Reserve bonus. This is an Excepted Service position that requires active membership in a compatible AFSC in the Minnesota Air National Guard and wear of the military uniform. Acceptance of an Excepted Service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently enlisted in the Minnesota Air National Guard must be eligible for immediate enlistment or appointment.
