**Job Description:**
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team. The RN is responsible for maintaining high standards of nursing care by ensuring that the individualized nursing care plan is effectively implemented. The RN will also supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees while fostering a collaborative environment focused on patient care.
**Primary Responsibilities:**
- Conduct a comprehensive nursing assessment for all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis for an individualized care plan. - Identify patient and family teaching needs and goals based on the nursing admission assessment while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. - Provide timely patient information and status updates for Initial Team Conferences and Re-evaluation Team Conferences weekly. - Ensure accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in accordance with policy. - Participate actively in the patient rehabilitation program, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. - Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission, preparing patients for a smooth transition post-discharge. - Communicate pertinent changes in patient status to relevant care providers to support continuity of care and patient safety. - Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel while delegating responsibilities appropriately. - Cultivate a positive and efficient work environment by contributing to team-building activities and maintaining clear communication with unit management. - Monitor supplies and equipment while providing patient care in a cost-effective manner. - Assume charge responsibilities upon completion of the orientation period as requested. - Pursue professional growth and development through continuing education and self-study. - Prioritize activities effectively to meet the needs of patients and maximize the use of staff resources. - Perform additional duties as requested by management.
**Qualifications:**
- BLS Certification required prior to the first shift. - ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (if applicable). - Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
