Pay Information $2,088 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Pending License accepted Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred, CPI preferred, NIHSS preferred Must-Have: Experience with Epic charting system required Must be willing to float to different units to meet facility needs Weekend coverage required: Every other weekend Description: This unit primarily serves patients with a variety of specialties. The patient population includes those needing care in ENT, plastics, cystic fibrosis, general surgery, and medical-surgical needs. The facility is a Level 1 trauma center, providing a wide range of interesting cases. Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:5 to 6. Weekly scheduling includes both weekday and weekend shifts. Experience in trauma care is preferred but not mandatory. Required skills include blood product administration, colostomy care, feeding tube management, insulin administration, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Nurses are expected to provide comprehensive wound care and manage surgical drains. All team members are expected to utilize rapid response teams as needed. This role requires strong phlebotomy skills and the ability to start IVs effectively. Familiarity with telemetry and remote monitoring is beneficial. Adequate interdisciplinary support is available from various therapy and social service professionals. The unit accommodates adult and geriatric patients, with an average daily census of 24.
