San Francisco General Hospital Foundation (SFGHF) is a dynamic and growing nonprofit fundraising organization dedicated to promoting equity in healthcare for all at the Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG). Zuckerberg San Francisco General is the only provider of trauma (Level 1) and 24-hour psychiatric emergency services for 1.5 million people in San Francisco and northern San Mateo counties.
A comprehensive medical center, Zuckerberg San Francisco General provides quality health care with compassion and respect to 100,000 inpatient and 500,000 outpatient visits per year, including some of San Francisco's most vulnerable. In addition, Zuckerberg San Francisco General is one of the nation's top tertiary academic medical centers conducting clinical training and research. In 2016, Zuckerberg San Francisco General opened a new acute care hospital, and the Foundation concluded a successful multi-million-dollar capital campaign.

POSITION SUMMARY :
The Development Director, Individual and Corporate Giving plays a pivotal role on the San Francisco General Hospital Foundation (Foundation) Development team. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and leading strategies that expand and steward philanthropic support from major donors in alignment with the Foundation's mission and the priorities of Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center (ZSFG).
THE ROLE :
Fundraising Strategy and Execution (65%)
- In partnership with the Chief Development Officer (CDO), develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies focused on growing giving at all levels, with emphasis on major ($10,000+) and blended (annual, special initiative, and / or planned) gifts from individuals and corporations.
- Using a discovery, cultivation, solicitation and retention model, manage and build a portfolio of current and prospective major donors with capacity for major and principal giving; build strong relationships and maintain active engagement through a minimum of four meaningful interactions with each portfolio constituent each year. Maintain and re-enforce portfolio management strategies and best practices.
- Partner with CDO to establish strategies to drive individual and corporate support via effective engagement activities.
- Manage the planned giving program, including cultivating and soliciting potential donors to disclose planned charitable gifts and steward known planned gift donors. Collaborate with external professionals as needed.
- Collaborate with event and other colleagues to promote sponsorship of the Foundation's annual fundraising event, Hearts in SF, as part of a comprehensive solicitation strategy. Maximize donor involvement in year-round cultivation and stewardship events.
- Provide strategic support to Foundation CEO to maximize portfolio performance and engagement.
- Build relationships with Foundation Board members and increase their engagement with the Foundation's revenue-generating activities.
- Collaborate with Hospital program managers to identify compelling funding opportunities aligned with donor interests.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of special initiatives and capital campaigns, ensuring integration with individual and corporate giving strategies.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR :
SALARY RANGE : $140,000-$160,000 depending on experience.
