The impact you will have: As a van driver, you will safely transport students and staff. You are often the first and last San Jos Unified employee our students interact with each day. Who you are: A reliable professional who brings a positive attitude, works well in a team, and is focused on safety and customer service.
What you bring:
- Completion of 10th grade or equivalent
- Valid California Class B License or Permit
- Valid Commercial Medical Certificate
- Valid First Aid certification (Red Cross, EMSA or CHP)
- Certified DMV Record completed within last 30 days. To obtain this, submit Request for Own Driver License/Identification Card or Vehicle/Vessel Registration Record to DMV and be sure to check the box at the top to "Certify the record as a true copy of record". Click this link to obtain the form:
- Successful completion of San Jos Unified van driving training program (you may be invited to participate after submitting your application)
- FMCSA Clearinghouse Registration at
- Spanish bilingual is preferred
- Note: Special Driving Certificate to drive a Type 1 school bus with an automatic transmission must be obtained within six (6) months of hire
