Summary

The MIL Corporation seeks a

Mid-Senior Level Systems Security Engineer (Security Engineering, Associate)

to support Naval Aviation acquisition programs, including a major ACAT developmental program. The position involves cyber resiliency engineering, vulnerability research, penetration testing, reverse engineering, and other System Security Engineering (SSE) support. It is based onsite at the Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Maryland.

This role currently requires an on-site schedule, with 5 days onsite and eligibility for a Compressed Work Schedule (CWS). Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements.

Responsibilities

Identify weapon system critical program information (CPI) and assess the impact of potential compromises.

Analyze and model proposed architectures critically.

Document protective architectures.

Develop and support contractual requirements for developmental programs.

Evaluate weapon system architectures for compliance with protection standards.

Coordinate with various agencies to ensure system protection requirements are met.

Assist the Navy V&V team in system design assessments.

Support risk management, mitigation, and reporting activities.

Facilitate communication across technical teams to share information and accelerate development.

Serve as a Technical Review Board (TRB) member, providing SSE expertise.

Travel

10-15% to other sites as needed.

Required Qualifications

At least 7 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, including SSE and related roles.

Programmatic or technical experience in designing and testing engineering solutions for complex systems.

Experience with systems engineering methods and tools in weapon systems development.

Knowledge of systems engineering, SSE, and cybersecurity related to weapon systems and platforms.

Understanding of systems engineering processes and applications.

Experience with DoD systems acquisition lifecycle.

Desired Qualifications

Knowledge of model-based systems engineering and digital engineering transformations.

Recent experience in AT systems engineering.

Experience with DoD acquisitions.

Master’s degree in a related scientific or technical discipline.

Education

BA/BS in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field from an accredited institution.

Clearance

Must possess a current Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain/maintain Top-Secret/SCI clearance. Clearance process considers financial background aspects.

Compensation

The projected salary range is $120,000 - $170,000 annually, with comprehensive benefits including health, life, disability, retirement, paid time off, professional growth, and tuition assistance. Final salary depends on qualifications, education, experience, and contractual limitations.
