Mid-Level Associate Attorney - Litigation Job Overview:
A Raleigh, NC-based law firm is seeking a litigation associate with 3+ years of relevant experience to support its growing pharmaceutical and medical device product liability defense practice. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional writing abilities, a strong grasp of Rule 702 and Daubert motion practice, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This role combines strategic litigation work with opportunities to engage with expert witnesses and clients, and to supervise junior attorneys. Duties
Drafting and reviewing motions, legal memoranda, and discovery responses Leading and assisting in Daubert and Rule 702 briefings Conducting legal research and analyzing complex factual and legal issues Coordinating with expert witnesses on report preparation and trial strategy Supervising junior team members on case tasks and deliverables Supporting fact investigation, deposition preparation, and execution Participating in the formulation of litigation strategy Engaging in regular client communications regarding case status and developments Working across multiple teams and practice areas on cross-disciplinary matters Requirements
Minimum 3 years of litigation experience, preferably from a large or nationally recognized law firm Demonstrated expertise in drafting dispositive motions and evidentiary briefs Background in pharmaceutical and medical device litigation strongly preferred Familiarity with federal rules of evidence and civil procedure Education
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution Academic performance reflecting strong analytical and writing skills Certifications
Active license to practice law in North Carolina Admission in additional jurisdictions, such as New York, is advantageous Skills
Superior legal research and persuasive writing capabilities Strong judgment and analytical thinking Exceptional attention to detail Ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple assignments Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills Demonstrated leadership in team environments Comfort with digital work tools and case management platforms Job Location
