Position Overview: Senior Accountant
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Accountant to serve as a key support resource to the Accounting Department. This position will work across the organization to maintain financial accuracy, assist with process improvements, and ensure timely reporting.
In the short term, this role will be hands-on in the Service Division: supporting the team during system implementations, assisting with invoice processing, and helping refine operational workflows. Long term, the Senior Accountant will focus on broader departmental needs, providing backup coverage for leadership functions, ensuring compliance, and supporting overall accounting operations.

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Accountant to serve as a key support resource to the Accounting Department. This position will work across the organization to maintain financial accuracy, assist with process improvements, and ensure timely reporting.

Long term, the Senior Accountant will focus on broader departmental needs, providing backup coverage for leadership functions, ensuring compliance, and supporting overall accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the VP of Finance by assisting with high-level accounting functions and financial oversight.
- Provide interim, hands-on support to the Service Division during implementation projects and process changes.
- Assist with processing invoices, billings, and related transactions in the short term.
- Maintain accuracy of accounting data by recording, verifying, and reconciling transactions.
- Prepare and record assets, liability, revenue, and expense entries.
- Support month-end and year-end close, including preparation of trial balances and reconciliations.
- Assist with financial statement preparation, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and custom reports.
- Ensure subcontractor compliance, including contracts, COIs, and payment schedules.
- Provide schedules and documentation for external audits.
- Maintain confidentiality of financial and payroll data.
- Collaborate with and mentor accounting team members to ensure departmental efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA candidate or license preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction or contracting industries.
- Experience supporting multiple legal entities and complex general ledger structures.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting/payroll software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, compliance, and audit preparation.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
