TITLE : Software Engineer VI
LOCATION : Maryland Heights, MO
JOB SUMMARY : Build technology solutions for data integration activities across Charter's Biller, Ordering, Provisioning, Field Operations, and Customer Experience organizations. Translate user needs and business requirements into detailed designs, solutions, and functional architecture. Assess opportunities for automation, create data flow diagrams, system integration flows, and access policies to support business needs. Implement monitoring and alerting processes for big data platforms, troubleshoot issues, and develop strategic solutions. Manage vulnerabilities, upgrades, and patches. Analyze and revise system logic and documentation. Lead platform upgrade initiatives and develop procedures for environments from sandbox to production. Provide technical support and guidance to regional teams, ensuring standards and documentation are met. Explore new technologies, compare with existing products, and develop future plans. Review work plans and designs for improvements. Perform AWS and database administration, utilizing Hadoop, Kafka Mirror Maker, Oracle, Microsoft, SQL Server, and NoSQL databases like Cassandra. Manage security protocols using Kerberos and Active Directory.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS : 5 years of experience in AWS and database administration; 4 years in Hadoop; 2 years in Kafka Mirror Maker; 1 year in database administration (Oracle, Microsoft, SQL Server) and NoSQL databases, and security protocols (Kerberos, AD). Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field with at least 3 years in AWS and database administration; 2 years in Hadoop and Kafka Mirror Maker; 1 year in database and NoSQL administration, and security protocols.
