Job Summary: The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a senior leadership position that is responsible for providing visionary and strategic direction in the use of technology for the PSU. The CTO plays a critical role in the use of technology to create student-centered learning environments that support engagement. Responsible for aligning technology with curriculum and instruction by facilitating the use of data and assessments to improve learning outcomes. This role ensures that the PSUs technology infrastructure is robust, secure and able to handle the needs of all stakeholders. Responsibilities: Develop and implement a comprehensive technology plan that aligns with the district’s mission, goals, and objectives. Ensure that the technology infrastructure is scalable, secure, and reliable. Align the PSU to NCDPI Digital Teaching and Learning Oversee the selection, implementation, and management of hardware, software, and systems to meet the district’s technology needs. Participates in strategic discussions and decision-making processes, providing insights and expertise to inform the development and implementation of policies that support the organization’s overall strategic direction. Ensure that technology resources are used effectively to support the district’s instructional and administrative programs. Collaborate with district leaders to identify technology-related professional development needs for staff. Manage the district’s technology budget, including forecasting and resource allocation. Stay current on advancements in technology and make recommendations for implementing new technologies. Manages the district’s technology budget, conducting forecasting and resource allocation to optimize financial resources and support the technological needs of the organization. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Information Systems, or related field; or a minimum of 5 years in a Technology related field; advanced degree preferred Strong understanding of the COSN framework and the role of technology in K-12 education Experience with developing and implementing technology plans and managing technology budgets Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills Strong problem-solving and analytical skills REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Support Services FSLA STATUS: Exempt DISCLAIMER: The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
