Base pay range
$250,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yr This organization is a leading cooperative in the utilities and telecommunications sector, committed to advancing reliable, secure, and cost-effective technology solutions. Focused on supporting member cooperatives and driving innovation, the Chief Technology Officer will play a pivotal role in shaping technical strategy, ensuring compliance, and overseeing IT and network infrastructure to meet evolving industry needs. Responsibilities The CEO will develop and execute a technical strategy aligned with organizational goals. Oversee IT and telecommunications operations ensuring reliable, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure. Manage departmental budgets, capital expenditures, and technical resource allocation. Lead and mentor technical staff, fostering professional development and team growth. Ensure compliance with NERC, FCC, OSHA, and other regulatory standards. Support cybersecurity, network management, emergency response, and disaster recovery efforts. Build strong relationships with member cooperatives, utilities, vendors, and industry partners. Provide technical expertise and reports to executive leadership, board committees, and advisory groups. Assist in subsidiary operations including fiber services, contracts, and commercial customer agreements. Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to drive innovation. Required Skills Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, or related field. 10+ years of experience in IT and/or Telecommunications. 7+ years of managerial, strategic planning, and project management experience preferred. Strong background in network design, telecommunications systems, programming, and RF design. Familiarity with regulatory compliance (NERC, FCC, RUS, OSHA). Proven ability in budgeting, contract negotiation, and resource management. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
