Hotel Revival is hiring for a
Chief Engineer Hotel Revival is 107 key art-centric boutique hotel located in Baltimore's historic Mount Vernon neighborhood, home to 19th-century architecture, lush parks, iconic churches, galleries, restaurants, and cultural venues. It embodies Baltimore by showcasing local products, the city's history, and cuisine. This award-winning property is internationally recognized for its commitment to the ongoing restoration of Baltimore and its success in social impact. What you'll do: Maintains knowledge of hotel departments, including engineering, housekeeping, and food service operations Ensures the hotel's maintenance and upkeep standards meet New Waterloo’s standards Proactively follow specific departmental procedures in performing repairs, maintenance, alteration, and installation work safely and neatly Comply with the latest insurance, local county, state, and federal government codes, laws, and requirements Determine defects, troubleshoot malfunctions, take necessary corrective action, and record the same following specific departmental procedures Assist with the training of new department associates on equipment and the daily functions of the hotel Delegate and/or coordinate shift staff duties Identify and schedule repair on all mechanical failures to include repair of appliances, HVAC, electrical, or plumbing; follow through with procedures on equipment maintenance where applicable as directed by management Operate various hand and power tools in a safe manner Function as a member of the emergency organization team and become an expert on life safety systems, fire, safety, and protection equipment/hazards Assist with organizing and completing preventive maintenance programs on guest rooms and equipment, and ensure all potential safety hazards are corrected Maintain positive public relations with all guests and associates Supervise and participate in all preventive and general maintenance programs by maintaining a room's maintenance strategy and scheduling preventive maintenance Schedule corrective maintenance and project work, and maintain tracking data, check sheets, and logs Ensure all guest complaints are handled with extreme courtesy and promptness. Ensure work assignments are completed with no rework and with little to no supervision Acts as a technical liaison to all other departments Ensure service requests are followed up on, completed, and communicated to teams Review and evaluate utility reports with input on energy conservation Ensure an adequate supply of spare parts in inventory and request replacements as needed Monitor and perform test systems as necessary, and be fully informed of the system operations to handle emergencies Have a working knowledge of fire sprinkler and emergency power systems Be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering capacity to protect our guests and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency Read, log, track, and interpret readings from meters, gauges, and other measuring units Participate in a weekly property walk-through and complete identified deficiencies within an appropriate time Who you are: You have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field. You have 2+ years of related experience in an engineering operational hospitality role. You have a track record of creating profitable, operational, and innovative Engineering solutions. You have experience leading multiple projects from ideation through execution. You can read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. You can write routine reports and correspondence. You are detail-oriented and take ownership of work. You have a strong work ethic and can work both autonomously and with a team. You are an excellent communicator who leads by example.
